Capsalute Inc.
Local-First Smart Spaces
We design privacy-focused smart homes & commercial spaces with a local foundation. No forced subscriptions. No fragile cloud dependence. No juggling apps.
Lighting, networking, cameras, and automation that just works.
Smart Lighting
Elegant, feature-rich, and efficient lighting with scene and zone control. Powered by DALI, a non-proprietary lighting system.
Networking
Seamless networking with good coverage, camera surveillance, and local storage. Including remote access that only you control.
Automation
Locally automate everything from lighting, to your coffee machine. Your home powers down as you lock the door and head out for the day.
Who We Are
The modern smart home industry promises convenience, but often delivers complexity. Multiple apps. Cloud accounts. Subscription fees. Devices that stop working when Wi-Fi drops. Platforms that disappear after five years. Privacy policies that quietly evolve.
We found a better way.
We build privacy-first, local smart home systems designed around reliability, security, and long-term ownership. Because your home should outlast trends, platforms, and product cycles.
I was frustrated by consumer market options, so I spent years researching and testing different systems. Ultimately I built my home smart, local, and private. Everything I could ever want, without compromising privacy or reliability. That passion and approach has become Capsalute.

Smart without compromises
Most smart homes are either reliable or private, but never both: they depend on cloud servers, proprietary systems, or fragile wireless links. Essential functions like lighting can fail when Wi-Fi is congested, the internet drops, or vendors change or kill platforms. Homeowners invest in smart home components without realizing the control layer is the part that becomes obsolete or breaks first.
At Capsalute we solve this with dependable, local-first foundation that operates prioritizes privacy. We implement wired lighting control via the open DALI standard (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface / IEC 62386), delivering reliability and great performance with a system that is internet capable, but not dependent.
Our Philosophy is that modern technology should feel like craftsmanship: Quiet, Durable, Considered.
A smart home shouldn’t feel experimental. It should feel finished.

No Marketing Spins
-
It means anything and everything related to your lighting, networking, or automation, is running locally in your space. Typically in a small closet or under the stairs. You can completely disable your internet and everything will continue to work.
-
Your devices can connect to the internet for updates, remote connectivity, and non-critical functions. However they don't depend on the internet (see local-first), and can be offline if desired.
-
By the nature of having an entirely locally-managed system, yes! Depending on the setup, there may be some specialized equipment or software needed. For those technically-inclined, the platforms offer customization and automation.
-
We use smart systems that are also open (e.g. Home Assistant), enabling integrations across ecosystems such as:
- Blink the accent lights red when someone rings the doorbell.
- Automatically adjust the color temperature of your lights based on the time of day.
- Optimize your lights to adjust to a specific luminance level. The lights will dim and brighten automatically based on natural light.
